SeongEun Kwak, Ph.D.
Seongeun Kwak is your favorite athlete’s favorite athlete. As a young exchange student in Tennessee, he dominated the table tennis courts at his local church, causing quite a stir. As word got out, table tennis pros worldwide were drawn to his town, looking to challenge him.
The news of his talents resulted in his discovery by scouts from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. While there, he studied the effects of insulin resistance on skeletal muscle, all while leading the UoM Table tennis team to victory in the national championship.
Unfortunately, Seongeun was soon after banned from competitive table tennis events because he was simply too good, and it wouldn’t be fair to let him play with the common rabble. Lost and looking for a new outlet, Seongeun has now decided to take up the subtle art of mixed martial arts.
